pop art birthday card

Hi,How are you all doing.
Its my daughters 14th bday today, and I was busy making a bday card for her. She is an artist herself , so I have to be careful with her. she is a good critic.

Inspired by the papercrafterscorner- magazine challenge 97 , i used bold , vibrant colors, to complement the pop art makeup which my daughter did on a Halloween party.

altered-upcycled wall clock

hello All,
there are few moments, when you are proud of your self, I had this moment today after altering a Christmas print clock, which we got from hallmark once. it even play Christmas carols.
I altered the clock to suit my craft room.

So what do you guys say?  I loved it and hope you too do so.

Process

  1. I first unassembled the whole clock,
  2. measured the circumference of the clock and cut a yellow card stock of the correct size.
  3. I has 6*6 paper house production 's artist collection paper. So I cut the circle out of it and stuck it to the center of my yellow card stock
  4. Then gessoed the remaining cardstock and also some of the center paper.
  5. Then sprayed  various mists to match the center printed paper.
  6. Stencilled hem with checker and diamond stencil
  7. then fuzzy cut the quotes from same Artist collection pad and decoupaged it.
  8. Gessoed the outer rim, applied decoart sealant, nd colored it with yellow paint.
  9. Hot glued the two brushes, tied them with some twine and stuck the letters on it.
The clock is ready --tada

we never go out of style

good afternoon
we are having crazy weather. yesterday it was soo hot that had to switch on our house AC, and today its windy raining and cold.
Anyways, I have a group of friends, known as ICS Indian moms group, which meet for tea once in 15 days. and till miles people  can figure out that. we laugh, talk loudly, and take tonnes of picture.
On this particular day we celebrated a festival "baisakhi" and all of us wore our Traditional Indian wear. Living in USA , we all dont have very updated styles, but I think we all looked pretty, and so the the title "we never go out of style".

my fav work

Everyone has a dark side

HEllo Again!
Yesterday was a busy day , and I didnt scrap anything till 5 pm in the evening. But the craving to make something , made me start this layout, and then it became interesting and I finished the layout in 3 hrs. ( poor husband kept waiting for dinner)
I love the expression of my daughter in this pic, taken when she had her face painted in amazon's summer fair.

This skull was handmoulded  and d by my daughter in her school.

I tore the paper vertically up erratically and applies corrugated board behind.

stencilled with Tim Holtz burlap stencil

Have used Stampendous gold embossing  powder , REcollection Microbeads, old book paper,  recycled synthetic net , mica flakes from stampendous.

Have used bottle caps, metal rings taken out from rice bag, black halloween net, as embellishment.

Challenges

Hope you have already visited very talented  Beth Watson and left some love there.

I recently visited Canada, and to make my own dream catcher was a top priority:)

Process

Cut feather from Linnie Bloom Canvas using
linnieblooms feather stencil and mask and then cover it with gesso for brighter colors. If you dont want bright colors , you can color the feather without applying Gesso
Cut a circle from Linnie Bloom canvas according to the size of your hoop ( I used
linnieblooms hoop) and then  gesso it.

then Stencil the circle canvas and apply color of your choice

I then added the letters and tamped butterflies on the canvas.

Color the feathers with different colors using acrylic colors after it
Now comes the harder part of preparing the hoop. I got some faux leather strings from a dollar store and covered my ring with it.
Then with a cotton chord waved the hoop seeing tutorials available on Pinterest . Took a while as it was my first one.
Tie the feathers with the faux chord , put some beads and attach it to your hoop.

Phew then you are done. Your own dream catcher is ready to charm the world.;0
