Bloom Girl

hello ! and very good morning . Sun is still shining in Seattle , getting some extended summer days. Morning and evening are nippy though.

letsgetsketchy magazine is scheduled to be online in November and we all have chance to get our work published in this awesome magazine. Here is my layout to their moodboard and sketch challenge.

I have used awesome circle cutter by Kreaxions.  Its soo easy to use and cut thinnest and smallest of the circles required. It was easy to do layering with circles easily.
Border lace has been created by using Kreaxions 901. I have used the punch to get the corners of the photo too.

I was inspired by the challenge on bloomgirls . It gave me idea to put flower on my daughter's hair.  have been following this blog  and their work is very creative.

Thanks for stopping by. Do leave your comments. They are really appreciated.
Submit your entries for letsgetsketchy online magazine. We would love to see your work.

I first splattered lots of paint on the paper with the thick paint brush, then used lots of washi tape .
I was inspired by the mood board on sassyscrappers .

Have entered the layout for tic tac toe challenge on rochellespears.blogspot.
I have used right vertical line.  Stencils, border and file folder.
tic tac toe on sketchesforyou is interesting. I have used paint, ink and multiple photos.
Also entering the layout in pixelsandpaperchallengeblog. I was inspired by the silhouette formed due to setting sun . my  pics are also taken on the beach at the time of setting sun

Bailey House -- Eyes Right

Hello everyone.
I am back with some memories from 1991. My school days.
CSI challenge is to journal about school or work. For days I was thinking of some pics of my kids to scrap. ( happens when you are mother of 2). But then saw layout of one of the fellow bloggers , and realised I went school too.So here I am , trying to rewind back to 1991 and journal about my school days.

Pic of my 12 grade , sports day-- year 1991
There are lots to tell about these pics. My most precious years in the school.I studied for 14 years in the same school, starting from kindergarden to 12 grade. Darling of all the teachers, well known to the principal, even the working class ( ayas and chaprasis -- they helped the school in the cleaning and running around with small errands.) It was all soo different , specially from culture here.
So just a little background, the whole school students after 2nd grade , were divided into 4 houses. I was in green house-- the Bailey house. Always actively participating in extracurricular activities, made me kind of popular:) . And in 12 th grade I was selected as Captain of the Bailey House. Very big responsibility. Almost 6 hundred kids under my command. But I had the best team, all my friends were in Green house and the head girl was my friend too. Sooo, we as group rocked. My house reached its highest point , winning all sports and academic competitions. We learned to lead ,to organise , to motivate . we felt like Obama probably. hehehhe.
We worked hard, slogged ourselves, and got our reward. Our house came first overall after 4 yrs.
Now coming to pics and the title.
WE , while march past , had to turn our heads right when passed the guest of honor. I had to give the command, but I had such a bad throat , that my friend deepali gave the command and I just moved my lips. HAHAHHHA.
"BAiley House--- Eyes right" still reverberate in my years when I think of that day.
Soo much fun and hard work, anxiety, high emotional drama when we won, cant forget anything.
The third pic of our house pyramid, dedicated to girl child, as India still struggles to give better life to girls.

Can go on an on. But dont wanna bore you guys more. Thanks for reading me .

The sketch is from sketchnscrap september challenge.

The layout is dedicated to all my friends and BAiley house team.
Love you all.
Thanks fro stopping by. Please leave your comments.

Cute

Hi!   I have been wanting to make this kind of mixed media layout for long. And esp this photo of my daughter , taken while she was volunteering at local Petco, always gave me a feeling that mixed media will go best with it.

I just started the layout with colouring the paper with various shades of brown pastels. I hope it will stay .

Challenge blog artastic has come up with very interesting challenge, all about threads.i have tried to give texture to my layout with lots of thread. And i am pretty happy with the result.

I really like creativeembellishments chipboards. I love to use corner or frame chipboards.

Hope you will like this layout. Please your sweet motivators. They keep me going.

Traditions-- Raksha Bandhan

Hello ! Good evening.
I received my kreaxions punches today , and i am eager to use them. saw couple of videos and had a chat with awesome fellow scrappers to get some tip on it. Will need more practice.

I am entering this layout for anything Asian challenge on lasting memories . I have used my a piece of my mom's old saree , beaded lace also from India . And hand made accents to give it very traditional look.
We celebtrated Raksha Bandhan ( traditionally  sisters tie a rakhi on their brothers wrist , with a commitment from brother to protect her always), with my daughters tying rakhi on their dad's wrist and  theri brother in law wrist, as families have shrunken and even if we have brothers or sisters , they are far away .
I have used handmade Rakhi ( basically decorated thread like friendship band) ,on my layout.
creatingwithpaperandmore has awesome color combination, and the sketch is by very talented Bev from the challenge blog sketchesinthyme.

Hope you will like it.  Please leave your comments.

Pics taken on our summer trip to Alaska. Seward is a beautiful coastal town where we went for this Wild life cruise.  What an amazing experience.

The color scheme is from mood board on offtherailsscrapbooking.
